Is City or Country Life Right For Your Family
Obviously the short answer is yes. What is right for our families is more than likely because we made it right. However, if the question is “could it be better”, or “is there a better place for your family”, then we have a different discussion entirely.
If your family dynamics are such that you and your children thrive on busy streets, cannot live without pizza or chinese delivery and walking to school is an important start to the day, then you probably will have a hard time adjusting to absolute silence most of the day especially after 10PM, driving 20 minutes one way to get that takeout your mouth is all set for,or catching a school bus every day.
On the other hand, if your kids are begging for a dog, a cat and a pony 24/7, and the debate is starting to effect their grades and your sanity, with a little planning it is actually pretty easy to make pizza and stir-fry at home and it usually tastes better.
Perhaps the best way to test the waters is a vacation swap, where you trade residences with another family. The internet has pages of content just for that purpose which allows a “test drive” without a mortgage on property you find later was not what you wanted.
